The North Butler Community Schools Family would like to express our condolences to the family of Kyle Marquard.

Kyle will forever be remembered as one of our own, and as a wonderful family man who was proud to be a member of the Greene Community School staff, and later the North Butler Bearcat family.

One of the proudest moments that I have had as an educator was last spring when we were able to rename the annual boys track meet in honor of Kyle, as the Kyle Marquard Invitational. Seeing the emotion and pride on Kyle’s face as he raised his pistol to ceremoniously kick off the meet is a memory I will always carry with me.

Rest in peace our friend. You have touched the lives of many and provided many great memories to all who have had the privilege of getting to know you.

You are indeed one who made us proud to be Bearcats!

The school will share information on arrangements when they are available.

Changes to School Start

Good Afternoon,
Due to the multiple fires on the roof at North Butler High School in the past 48 hours, we will have a change to the start of the year. North Butler PK-6 students will have schools as planned starting on Wednesday August 23rd. 7-12 grades will now tentatively begin on Monday August 28th. This will depend upon whether or not Serv Pro (A professional cleaning company that specializes in disaster clean up) has finished cleaning up the building at that point.

All scheduled activities will continue as planned, including the home FB game with Starmont on Friday evening. We will continue with VB and cheer practices in Allison, and football and XC practices outside at the coach’s discretion.  The weight room and JH/HS are closed to the public and students until further notice.

We will not have to make up these contact days as per the following excerpt from the DE:
Remember also that if just a classroom or attendance center is closed for emergency health or safety reasons, while the remainder of the district is in operation, the day may be counted as a day of school.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we deal with these issues!

North Butler to partner with NC3 and Snap-on Tools

Certification Centers are education institutions that offer Snap-on certifications to students, and in some cases, to the incumbent workforce as well.  By offering third party, stackable and transferable credentials, certification centers help their students become more marketable.
Compete in the marketplace, collaborate in classroom.

Certification Centers are eligible for membership with the National Coalition of Certification Centers, also known as NC3.  This organization assists schools in their effort to collaborate with industry.  Partner schools who take advantage of NC3 join a national network of schools providing the highest level of training.  Additionally, NC3 works with industry and organizations with a goal of improving workforce development.
During the 2017-18 school year North Butler is proud to announce that we have partnered with Snap-on and NC3 to bring new programs to our students. As soon as we are prepared we will be offering programs in Precision Measuring Instruments, Mechanical and Electronic Torque Instruments, and at least on other area that is yet to be determined.
Not only will the students involved be able to earn a certificate, but will also be able to print a document that shows the proficiencies that they are able to demonstrate throughout the program.
There will be more information available as we move forward with this partnership!
