Board Notes 11-14-16

Last evening the North Butler Board of Education took the following actions;

1.     Approved disposal of 3 storage sheds-bid notices will go out.
2.     Approved dance team as a school activity.
3.     Approved bids on obsolete vehicles
4.     Approved City of Greene proposal on portion of land at elementary site that includes oak grove and road.
5.     Approved the Certified Annual Report.
6.     Approved Professional Development speaker.
7.     Approved updates to 100 series of board policy-waived second reading
8.     Approved SBRC application for administrative costs for River Hills consortium.
9.     Approved all early graduation requests.

10. Approved all human resource items.

Mrs. Tracy Teacher of Year Finalist!

North Butler Community Schools is proud to announce that Kindergarten teacher Laura Tracy was one of five finalists for the Iowa Teacher of The Year for 2017. Laura was recognized for the fantastic things that she does in the classroom, and was nominated by parent Billie Buss.

Mrs. Tracy will be honored at a luncheon in Des Moines on next week, which will be attended by both Governor Branstad and Lt. Governor Reynolds.

We are very proud that Mrs. Tracy was recognized to this degree for the wonderful things that she does for our children. She is a very humble person, who does fantastic things in the classroom. Mrs. Tracy is an exemplary leader for our district!
